Foresta extremely hard diamond steel irons ensure that your knives retain their original sharpness. The hardness of the diamond steel both corrects unevenness on the blade and significantly improves cutting performance. Place the heel of the knife on top of the steel at an angle of approximately 20 degrees. Keeping the right angle is crucial, as an incorrect angle will result in scratches on the blade. Sharpen the blade from heel to tip 2-3 times and repeat with the other side of the blade until the blade is sharp. 10 strokes on each side of the blade will usually be sufficient. Wipe the knife with a dry cloth after sharpening. It is normal for the iron to get small scratches from normal use. Wash with warm water and mild soap and dry immediately. Not suitable for dishwasher. The wooden part of the item is FSC®-certified oak (FSC-C166612).
