Campfire grilled spiced peaches with ice cream

Procedure

Few things taste as summery as juicy peaches that get a light, smoky edge from the campfire and are spiced with warm notes of cinnamon and cardamom, plus a small pinch of salt. Served with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream, this dessert captures the essence of warm evenings under the open sky.

Melt the butter in a pan over the campfire and add the spices.

Let the spices melt into the butter, then place the peach halves cut side down in the pan.

Cook until caramelized, then serve with ice cream.

  • 4 ripe peaches, halved
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • A pinch of Maldon salt
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving
